Power BI: Timeline Control to Filter Multiple Queries

Timeline control is used as a filtering component. In this post, we are going to look at the steps involved when using the control to filter multiple queries (Query1 & Query2) at once in the data model.

  1. Create a new Table from the Modeling tab.

  2. The new Table will have a single column named “Date” with a contiguous set of dates using the CALENDARAUTO function and parameter 12 returns – all dates between January and December.

  3. Now create the relationship between Query 1 (ISSD_DATE) and Table (DATE), Query 2(OUT_DATE) and Table (DATE).

  4. Download the Timeline visualization control.
